Foelber Pottery Gallery & Studio

Foelber Pottery started in 1979 with a group of craftsmen making unique, intricately carved and pierced lanterns. Each piece was created by a team of potters. One potter would throw the form on a potter's wheel. The next person would carve the design. Another would apply the glaze colors . Then the next potter would load and fire the kiln. The work sold at various arts and crafts festivals in the southwest, from Texas to Florida.
Through the 1980's , the studio gradually evolved. Instead of traveling to shows, the potters turned the bottom floor of the 1930's house into a gallery. As the original group dispersed, other artisans working in clay gravitated to the fully equipped studio with kilns. The gallery typically held four exhibitions a year, featuring unique one-of-a- kind ceramic work.
By 1993 the business expanded to include another building for the ever- growing pottery classes and studio/storage space for large "works-in progress".
In 2004 children's pottery classes were first offered in the new , separate children's studio. Now children's classes are held on Saturdays during the school year and in two week summer camp sessions.
The gallery is still housed in the charming 1930's house. We are committed to showing handcrafted, fine works in clay. We host approximately five shows per year . Recently we have added one-day Party Events to the "happenings " we offer.
Every fall we host an old- fashioned festival and pottery sale in the lush backyard. The fun-filled event includes pottery demonstrations, kids' activities, Raku firings, music and more. Get on our mailing list so you don't miss the experience.
