This is the dramatic, "wow" party. Everyone receives a professionally made piece of bisqueware. Instruction and suggestions are given as each person glazes the surface. Pieces are then loaded and fired in our primitive Raku kilns which are located in our funky, lush backyard. The kiln will heat up for approximately 50 minutes. This is the time to eat, drink, socialize and get a tour of the gallery and studios. We will periodically observe the kiln get hotter and the glazes begin to melt. The drama begins when the kiln reaches the correct temperature. Stand back and watch as the instructors work with fire, smoke and changing glaze colors right before your eyes. After a 15 minute wait, the pieces will be cooled off with water, cleaned of soot and ready take home.
Advantages: Professionally made piece of pottery. Time to socialize with friends. Excitement and drama of a kiln firing. Take your piece home that day. This event can accommodate up to 30 people.
